With world wide environmental stress and climate change the "Green Community" is now become a global community. In North America we must fight to do our part and fight to make our elected officials do their part. There are tons of organizations that are dedicated to all of this but the biggest problem is no centralized system or method of bringing everyone together. Until now. Green City Guide is about bringing everyone together at the level where it is most important and ultimately most empowering. Right here at home.
There is an old saying in Shaman medicine that says "heal yourself and you heal the world." If you have healed yourself (which most of us probably really haven't), then you understand what that means. But even if you have attempted to heal yourself you might understand. And so too, being green is about healing the world of its environmental ills. And this starts at home. If we can be as "green" as possible as an individual, it will carry forward and onward. Thus, when we "green ourselves" we green the world.
Naturally, it isn't easy and simple, like they say, if it was then everyone would be doing it. But we have to make the uphill climb. And we can do it together. And that is what this community of Green City Guide Sites and Social Networking sites are about. Banding together in a way that transmits to each individual community by community across this great land.
